The third victim of the influenza was Sister Hormisdas, Little Sisters of the Holy Family, who died on January 11. Only 39 years old, Sister Hormisdas, a native of Quebec, had pronounced her perpetual vows in 1918. Father Thoral wrote about Sister Hormisdas: "Pray for Sr. Hormisdas buried today. Crown on head. Formula of profession in her hands."

Marist Seminary sent its students home, while Marist College reopened, with a modified schedule, a few weeks later.
